Club logo contest!

We may not be an official UNT club just yet, but that doesn't mean we can't have an official logo. So come one, come all. Give us your weak, your tired, and your logo ideas for our club.

'What's the prize for this contest?' you may ask. 'Shut up and just do it,' I may say.

can we make shirts too?

As soon as we get a design, we could print this stuff on damn near everything. Shirts, ties, coffee mugs, mismatching socks, elephants, the Moon...

I will tattoo this logo on my forehead if it's good enough...

Heres just a simple little logo, took about 5 mins to whip up... let me know what you guys think...

I like it too, but we should probably avoid pictures of actual consoles/brands for possibly legal issues.

I can see how we can get around legalities on this one, actually. Since we won't be profiting in any way from the usage of each company's property, and each "studio" can come up with their own logo or whatnot when they release games, I think we're safe on that front.

Both submissions are very nice. =D We should probably set a date to close submissions by... I'll leave that to PJ, though.

Yeah I was thinking about the legality bit that I could eliminate any actual writing. I got these images from when I made all these consoles from scratch to train myself more in Photoshop.

So we could keep it as it is, but I agree that the logo will eventually become dated so maybe I could do the same thing, but put different things inside?

Examples: keep the mouse, maybe a basic controller?, Perhaps a microchip or even a coding screen or whatever else

Suggestions?

You made those yourself? Good job, they're great. I like those examples. Could also put in different things that are in games, like a sword, gun, space ship, etc...

I love the idea of a sword and gun! I would have liked to do a spaceship, but I was failing hardcore. So how about this?? And yes everything was made from scratch and the controller is different so shouldn't be any issues with legalities!

The sword kind of looks like the one from Fire Emblem. I approve. We need to show Fire Emblem some more love...

I have never heard of Fire Emblem though my game encyclopedia of a boyfriend informed me. I didn't intend for the sword to look like anything, I did base it off of some sword online hahaha so maybe I chose that one!

Anyway....I was a little concerned about the gun?? Thoughts?

I agree, it looks fantastic. But you're also right about this logo representing us, and I'd rather not feed into the stereotype too much. I think the sword looks great, but maybe we can figure out something else instead of the gun.

Instead of a pistol, the gun could be a rifle of some type. Or a CHAINSAW SWORD. Or something else entirely. My vote is for the CHAINSAW SWORD.

...Did I mention CHAINSAW SWORD?!

Anyone else think it's sad that we would even have to think about shying away from a sword or gun because it might convey a negative message to the public?

Alrighty so I have changed the gun to a laser gun borrowed from the fifties. The logo would definitely be kelly green, but in order to fit all of these styles onto the same page instead of posting ten pictures I have color coded them so people could say which ones they like best.

Sorry, but I just have to make sure it is up to my best capabilities...I don't want to disappoint. And choices are fun!

My favorite is probably the dark blue. Now it is your turn! Go!

Loooove it. So many styles to choose from; I don't know which is best!

I guess the deadline for logo submissions is the next meeting; probably Oct 10th. We'll vote at the meeting for our favorite.

I drew this a week ago... Figured I should submit it. =) It didn't scan well, and I wasn't able to create it digitally, but you get the general idea.

It's very sad, but it can't be helped, unfortunately. =o The logo with the original gun is still my favorite. <3

I think you said something about making more flyers before the next meeting (Oct 10?) and perhaps it would draw in more people to have the logo on there.

Maybe have a big week long vote or something? I'd be more than happy to design some sort of flyer. Then everyone could maybe print a couple and spread them about.

Even if you still want to have a big vote during the next meeting I'd be glad to design a flyer haha..........there is only so much an advertising person can do and I'd love to be involved a lot!
