So we're working on a 2D, action-adventure, RPG that I introduced at one of the first meeting last semester. Kind of inspired by classic Zeldas; "kind of" and "inspired by", not a remake/rehash/send-up/tribute/clone. I can't get too much into the story because (if I may toot my own horn a little) the basic story we have so far is pretty good and I don't want to give anything away. I'll leave it at: knights, fantasy, magic, possibly dragons and unicorns.

I'll admit, our project didn't go very far last semester. We got some concept art and sample music done and I mostly developed the story in my head(or talking with Christa).

But that changed Monday night. A large group of us got together and talked a lot. Our programmers agreed to use Unity; it is very robust yet not too difficult to figure out. We got two writers that are very excited to work on the project (time to unload my brain, I suppose). And our artist... well he continues to feel the pressure of being the lone artist. Seriously, we need more, if you're interested.

After hashing out some gameplay elements (and leaving many others to be decided later), we dished out some little assignments to work on until our next meeting. I have a good feeling about this group, a lot of smart guys (and one wonderful woman). We're bound to produce something great.

Hm. I kinda feel bad that I haven't heen able to give this project the attention it needs. That shows the problem of being a student, working, and trting to make a game. I've had to largely set the game aside for a while to focus on school work. The writers and I did have a nice meeting the other day, though. Hopefully I can make time to focus on programming.
